    Offered is a
    Victorian advertising trade card
    issued by the
    Standard Sewing Machine Company
    of Cleveland, Ohio depicting
    nine colorful pansy flowers dressed in human clothing, holding up letters spelling S-T-A-N-D-A-R-D with an American flag in the background, circa 1880s.
    Caption reads:
    Pansies Playtime
    Lithographed by M. F. Tobin, New York.
    The back is blank with the exception of a rubber stamped imprint for an illegible store.
    Size of this trade card is approximately 5 1/2" x 3 3/8."
    Condition is very good and near mint, with only the mildest corner and edge wear.
