    Description

1957 Triumph TR6 650cc Restoration project. This was a basket case I purchased with the intent to restore but I have decided to move it on. What you see here is the bike loosely assembled to establish what is there and what will be required. Matching numbers motorcycle being sold with a bill of sale. The previous owner claimed to have the title but has not been able to find it so I am presuming it lost, he did send a photo of it and registration slip. I was told the lower end of the engine was overhauled but I would recheck the work. The threaded boss of one of the internal crankcase screws has broken away, it is currently held in place by the screw itself, a photo of this is included below.  Cylinder Head has the usual cracks between the valve seats and bolt holes that will require attention, also one of the 1/4"x 20 Rocker Box bolts has broken off in it's hole. Gearbox appears sound as do the Primary Covers although there is no primary drive (clutch, engine sprocket etc). The frame appears ok, there has been a repair to the side stand lug and although the stand works well the repair is rough. Fuel tank is ok, badge holes are filled and it is missing a rack screw and mounting hardware. The Oil Tank has had a repair to a mounting lug, the tank as well as the battery box have been modified to fit a pancake air filter which is attached to the stock 376/40 Amal carburetor. Rear fender is stock and in good shape, does have a pair of extra holes drilled. Front forks are standard for the year and in good shape, the internal damper rods and spring are there but bot attached, Wheels are stock, front wheel includes the tasty 8" scooped brake plate. Includes the q/d Lucas head light. The original Lucas competition magneto sparks, one of the pick ups is broken. The Lucas Generator is present. Missing items include the horn, speedometer and bracket, passenger pegs, chainguard, front fender and 2 stays, clutch, tank badges and some hardware, there is a small bag with some of the hardware not on the bike. The seat is completely shot, not worthy of saving. Please scroll down and view all the photographs below. A decent core to start with that will require countless hours and knuckle banging. Email with any questions.
