This kit is designed to restore your tray 2 of the Laserjet 4000/4050/4100 back to normal.  Typically over the years the clutch wears out, losing it's magnetic pull and begins "groaning" or the printer will feed paper from the tray but only get the paper out maybe 2-3" from the tray and jam the printer.  The good thing is that this repair takes minutes to complete!
To determine the clutch condition, simply open the tray 2 drawer, you will see an access cover where the feed roller is.  Open it up.  Remove the pickup roller off the shaft by pressing the "finger snap-lock".  Now the clutch is alongside the roller, remove it.  Then reinstall the roller back onto the shaft and close cover and install drawer and test by printing a page.  If the noise/feed issue is gone, then your clutch is shot.  This is a very common and easy repair!  Don't waste money on a service call, this is a quick and easy repair anyone can do!
