    The company was incorporated in Maryland in 1922 but operated in Cuba. It was a reorganization of the Atlantic Fruit Company and it took over the assets of the Atlantic Fruit and Steamship Company. It owned 153,000 acres in Cuba, 132,000 acres in Nicaragua and 30,000 acres in Jamaica.
