    About this Build:
Business Desktop PC's from HP and Dell often make great retro gaming PC's when properly upgraded, and this one is no exception.  I have installed either a Quadro K420 or K600 video card (both virtually identical to each other) and configured it as a GeForce GT630.  I also installed a Broadcom PCIe ethernet card as the onboard ethernet was the one thing I could not get working under Windows XP.
I have dual-installed both Windows XP Professional and Windows 10 Professional onto the 240 GB SSD, either of which is selectable upon startup.  All drivers for both operating systems are installed, and all updates for Windows 10 are installed as of September 2021.  Google Chrome is installed on both operating systems (version 49 for XP), and some core components such as .net framework and c++ redistributables are installed on XP (see the screenshot in the pics for full details).  I have additionally left in the original 500GB mechanical drive for additional storage - it is formatted as a blank NTFS drive, visible to both operating systems.
Most Windows XP games will run at max settings, and even the latest, most demanding games from the XP generation should run at at least medium settings.
While the Windows 10 installation isn't exactly a modern gaming setup, light gaming is still possible and the hardware still fast and modern enough to make this a snappy general purpose office or home PC.  As such, you can use this as your main home or office PC, bootable into a retro-gaming environment, or you can use it primarily as a retro gaming machine and boot into Windows 10 when you need a modern web browser.
    Power Consumption:
This is a very power-efficient build.  Idle power is around 51 watts while maximum power measured at the wall when stress-testing with 3dMark06 was just shy of 80 watts.  This makes the 240w OEM power supply more than sufficient for this build.
    Benchmarks:
Passmark scores for both the video card and CPU exceed the averages as posted on the Passmark website.  Passmark was run on Windows 10.  3dMark was run on Windows XP.  Details as follows:
    3dMark03
    22,842 Overall Score
484 FPS - Wings of Fury
188 FPS - Battle of Proxycon
    151 FPS - Troll's Lair
    137 FPS - Mother Nature
    3dMark05
    15,467 Overall Score
72 FPS - Return to Proxycon
    44 FPS - Firefly Forest
    75 FPS - Canyon Flight
    3dMark06
    6,686 Overall Score
23 FPS - Return to Proxycon
    24 FPS - Firefly Forest
    Passmark 10
    3573 - CPU Mark
    294 - 2D Graphics Mark
    872 - 3D Graphics Mark
    1459 - Memory Mark
    2616 - Disk Mark
