    Description

Official Horse Show Blue Book: Vol. 18, 1924
    NY: J.W. Waring, 1924.
375 pp., dozens of photos of saddle and harness horses, jumpers, personalities, and shows; also ads for luxury goods and equestrian clothing.
Containing “complete summaries of all recognized horse shows in the United States; table of champions and reserve to champions; ‘stars’ of the season; appointments in equipages, etc.
The recognized authority on correct appointments.”
Covers shows across the country and international polo (U.S. vs. England).
This volume is especially rich in photos, including champion Edna May’s King (Bourbon King-Edna May) and Great Heart making his record jump of 8 feet 13/16 inches.
Long sections on appointments for hunt teams (with comments on ladies astride vs. sidesaddle), equipage, and saddle horse (side saddle and cross saddle).
Also “The Army Equestrian Team in Europe” by P.M. Robbinett.
A must for the horse show or social historian.
Or who knows, one of your family members or horse’s ancestors might be here!
The cover shows Dragon Fly, Devon and New York National champion, owned by Mr. A.W. Atkinson.
    Condition: very good hardcover.
    Back cover lightly rubbed.
A little very slight old sticking from old sticky notes but pages are separated without loss.
There are 2 sticky notes still in place, which we haven’t removed for fear of losing the text underneath (show results), but it can be read through the notes (one of them is shown in photo).
