Original WWI US Size 44 Uniform Coat and 36" Breeches Cotton Tunic Extra Large

Description

Original World War One US Army Khaki Cotton Coat and Breeches. Coat (tunic) is a size 44, the largest issue size. Breeches waist measure 36 1/2". Coat has standing collar, four pockets and is complete with all blackened bronze buttons, backmarked "Horstmann, Philadelphia", and are attached with brass split rings. Breeches have white metal utility buttons at the fly marked "U.S. Army", and laces at the bottom. There are two illegible red ink stamps on the white cotton waistband lining and the remains of a paper label sewn on front. The coat appears to not have any markings.

Across the chest: 23 1/2"
Back length from collar seam to hem: 28"
Across the shoulders: 18"
Across the waist: 20 1/2"
Sleeve from shoulder seam to cuff: 24"
Breeches waist: 36 1/2"
Both items are in very good condition. There is a small 1/8" hole in the back of the coat and stains at the bottom back. It appears to have been taken in, then let out to it's original size at one time. Please see pictures.
