Rare 1995 Pre-production Baron Of Hell Doom Reaper Miniature (Sandra L. Garrity)

Description

What I know about the figure:
A line of pewter miniatures was produced by Reaper Miniatures based on Doom and Doom II characters under a license from id Software in a limited run from September 1997 to July 1999. The original miniatures were carved by three freelance artists contracted by Reaper: Sandra L. Garrity, Julie Guthrie, and Bob Ridolfi.
The line featured miniatures of Marine with Shotgun (Hero), Zombie Marine with Autorifle, Zombie Marine with Shotgun (Sergeant), Heavy Weapons Dude (Chaingunner), Imp, Pink Demon, Lost Soul, Cacodemon, Pain Elemental, Revenant, Mancubus, Baron of Hell, Arachnotron, Arch-Vile and Cyberdemon. Reaper part numbers were 66601 thru 66615 (in respective order from above).
Three of the miniatures - the Baron of Hell, Mancubus, and Pinky Demon - were offered as Doom 3 preorder bonuses.
In addition to the published line of figures, extremely limited prototypes were also cast by id Software during the miniature line's approval process. According to Ed Pugh, co-owner of Reaper Miniatures, 15-20 of each prototype exists worldwide and were given to all current id employees, and over the years a very few of those have found their way onto the open market.
The original release from 1997 can be distinguished from the re-release for Doom 3 via examination of the bottom of the miniature. Pieces from the original run have the text "TM 1996" molded onto the bottom, whereas re-release pieces have the text "1993, 1997" instead.
As this figure simply has the word “sample” and a number “5” scratched into the base this is a rare prototype and is 51mm tall. As it is a prototype it was likely never packaged originally and is basically in mint condition. I bought this figure with approximately 40 other figures at an antique store in lewisville, Tx not knowing anything about them.
