    Description

    This is a bakelite officer's carafe from "The SS United States Liner". This carafe has a high gloss finish, and appears to be in perfect condition, including the chrome handle, chrome trim, glass liner, and lucite stopper. The SSUS eagle logo is crisp, front & center. This attractive officer's carafe measures...10" in height, and was manufactured by the "American Thermos Bottle Company". Inside is a double-wall glass liner to keep beverages extremely temperate. This early style carafe was originally secured to each cabin wall using a heavy chrome, wall-mounted ring. Also included is a silver locker key tag & key, along with a wine invitation card. This item was originally purchased at the 1984 SSUS at auction in Norfolk, Virginia.
